About the project
Nordic information- and communication network regarding safety of seafood products and utilization of resources from the sea
The goal of the project is to establish a Nordic information- and communication network regarding the safety and benefits of seafood products and utilization of marine resources. The network is a co-operative project with representatives from Denmark, Faroe Islands, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden.
It is hoped that the project will build the base for co-ordination of information on the reporting of chemical substances, i.e. nutrients and contaminants in seafood and utilization of marine resource. The project is also the cornerstone for further networking and new co-operative research with the participation of scientists in the Nordic countries and EU.
The website is the main product of this network project and is managed by the Icelandic Fisheries Laboratories (from January 1st 2007 MATÍS Food Research, Innovation & Safety), with all other participants contributing material.
The project is funded by the Nordic Council of Ministers.
